What Is Custom Injection Moulding?
Custom moulding is the process of creating a mould to specified requirements and then using the mould to create custom components. Once the requirements are understood, the Thunderbird team creates a digital 3D CAD model that is fully explorable and measurable on any Windows computer. Prior to manufacturing the custom mould, we can provide our clients with a 3D-printed prototype to have the certainty that the final product will be as expected. When the design is approved by the stakeholders, the mould carving and assembly process gets handed over to a mould manufacturer. Once the mould is back at our production facility, our clients can fully rely on our production capabilities to produce mass quantities of their custom-designed and fully branded products at incredible rates – in some cases it can be thousands per day.

Environmental Sustainability With Thunderbird Plastics
The Thunderbird Plastics injection moulding process involves the use of extremely durable molted thermoplastics like High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). However, through unavoidable wear-and-tear, items made of even the most quality plastics will, too, see an end of useful life. Fortunately, the thermoplastic resins that we use at Thunderbird can be melted and reformed into new products over and over. When plastic is returned to us, we use the wash-and-chop method to clean and break down returned products into mouldable pieces. Every product of ours can be returned to us at the end of its useful life cycle and we will turn it into new Thunderbird products, keeping plastics out of the landfills.
